About Wimmera Racing

The Wimmera Racing Club was founded in 1998 and was the first regional racing club in Australia. The 11 founding clubs combined to form one administrative entity. Wimmera Racing Club now manages 9 racecourses throughout the Wimmera Region of Victoria: Ararat, Donald, Great Western, Horsham, Murtoa, Nhill, St Arnaud, Stawell and Warracknabeal. Sheep Hills race at Warracknabeal and Marma races at Murtoa. For more information about the founding clubs' histories and current events, click on the racecourse name above.

The Wimmera Racing Club has a board of 10 directors and as many volunteer Local Area Committees. The administration staff members work out of the office at the Stawell Racecourse. 6 full time curators care for the racecourses and numerous casual employees work on racedays as bar staff, gate staff, and promotional workers.

25 November 2008 AGM -  The Annual General Meeting of the Wimmera Racing Club Ltd will be held at the Stawell Racecourse, Stawell on the 25th November 2008. The meeting will begin at 7:30pm sharp.

The AGM will consider:

- Chairmans Report
- CEO Report
- Annual Financial Statements
- Company Auditors
- Election of Office Bearers
- Address by Neil McRae, Director CRV
- Presentation of Life Memberships
- General Business as appropriate

The Board will host supper and refreshments at the conclusion of proceedings.
